Cargus is Romania's first courier company with over 30 years of experience (2,600+ employees, 2,000+ OOH points). The company offers comprehensive courier services, including home delivery and Out-of-Home pickup through its national SHIP&GO network. Cargus operates five sorting centers, 36 warehouses, and a cross-border hub in Poland.
Cargus needed to optimize its OOH network by determining the ideal footprint of locker and pick-up/drop-off points, balancing customer convenience and cost efficiency.
Key challenges included:
Quarticle successfully integrated the Graph location intelligence platform with Cargus systems, leveraging advanced geospatial algorithms and a robust data backend.
Categorized network intelligence: Implemented differentiated data layers for automated lockers and service points, segmented by ownership.
Developed interactive analytics: Built visualization tools to track active versus inactive points and provide actionable insights for network optimization.
Optimized expansion strategy: Generated suitability heatmaps for new OOH (Out-of-Home) placements, utilizing high-precision parcel and population density data.
Executed large-scale processing: Processed 3.2 million delivery addresses to conduct a comprehensive network assessment.
Quarticle provided Cargus with a clear, interactive view of its entire OOH network. The client can now optimize existing locations, identify under- or over-served areas, and make informed decisions for network expansion.
The solution enhanced operational efficiency and planning accuracy, enabling smarter, data-driven growth of the SHIP&GO network. The success of this project led to a long-term partnership extension, with additional optimization projects already underway.
